To adapt our PrestaShop site to the general regulation on GDPR data protection, the first operation to be carried out is to install the GDPR module, in the case of PrestaShop 1.6.X we can opt for our PrestaShop Free GDPR compliance module [RGPD 2016/679] , while for PrestaShop 1.7 we can install the official PrestaShop module for free.

The second operation to perform is to subscribe to the Iubenda service, in order to generate the privacy policy and the cookie policy compliant with the GDPR.

STEP 1. REGISTER A USER ON IUBENDA

Let's connect to the site http://iubenda.refr.cc/SJF8K76 and click on the Signup item at the top right, enter our email address and a password that we will use to access the service. We will receive an email with the procedure necessary to complete the registration.

STEP 2. LET'S START THE GENERATION OF THE PRIVACY POLICY

Once logged in, click on the Dashboard item at the top and then on the Start generation item (green button) we will find the Website already selected, if it is not, select it, then enter the URL of our e-commerce and click on Start Generation .

STEP 3. WE CREATE OUR PRIVACY POLICY

Let's start creating our privacy policy, then click on Generate now (green button) in the Privacy and Cookie policy box that appears on our left and then again on Add a service (blue button).

STEP 4. WE SELECT ACTIVE SERVICES IN OUR E-COMMERCE

Let's start selecting the services installed on our e-commerce by entering the service to search for under Type here to filter , for example: Sale of goods and services online. And click on the + that appears to the right of the name after the Pro item. At the end, click on Save and close .

STEP 5. WE ENTER THE DATA OF THE OWNER OF THE WEB SERVICE

Let's move to point 2 - owner of the website - and insert the data of the owner, if the company has appointed an RDP / DPO the contact details of the same will be included in this form. Once the fields have been filled in, click on Next to confirm the entry.

STEP 6. GENERATION OF THE COOKIE POLICY

Generating the Cookie Policy is very simple as it is linked to the Privacy Policy that we have already generated. Click on Generate now in the Cookie Solution central column, leave everything as it is in the window that appears and click Next at the bottom right.

STEP 7. WE RECOVER THE IUBENDA ID ASSOCIATED WITH OUR PRIVACY AND COOKIE POLICY

Scroll down the page to Integrate documents , click on Use the direct link where we will find URL https://www.iubenda.com/privacy-policy/59844XXX where the number after privacy-policy / is the Privacy ID and Cookie Policy that we have generated.

STEP 8. INSTALL THE ART IUBENDA PRIVACY AND COOKIE POLICY GDPR MODULE

We purchase the form Art Iubenda Privacy and Cookie Policy GDPR [RGPD 2016/679] and download it. From the PrestaShop panel go to Modules and Modules & Services and click at the top right on the item Upload a module. In the pop-up we now select the item select a file and we go to select the module installation package from the local folder where we downloaded it.

STEP 9. LET'S CONFIGURE THE ART IUBENDA MODULE

We insert the Privacy ID and Cookie Policy (step 5) under Iubenda API ID and select the position of the Widget we want from the Widget Position drop-down menu and configure the other items as shown in the image. Now click on Save to confirm the settings.

STEP 10. INTEGRATION OF THE PRIVACY POLICY TEXT IN A CMS

From the PrestaShop panel go to Desing -> Pages and then click on Edit to edit the CMS. Click on the View Source Code Icon to the left of the issue and insert the code <div id="artiubenda-privacy"></div> and click on Ok.

STEP 11. WE MAKE OUR E-COMMERCE COMPLIANT WITH THE GDPR

The Official GDPR compliance module is free for PrestaShop 1.7 , for version 1.6 we can use the free PrestaShop Free GDPR compliance module .
The installation of the module is very simple, as in step 7 let's go to Modules & Services.

STEP 12. CONFIGURATION OF THE OFFICIAL GDPR COMPLIANCE MODULE

Click on Configure and go to the Consent box customization item, customize the various messages (we just need to translate them) and then save. Having installed the Art Iubenda module we will be able to include the widget as indicated in the module manual.

STEP 13. WE ACTIVATE COOKIES LAW

We can now activate the Iubenda cookies law banner. To do this we simply need to identify the siteID from the inclusion code provided by the service. We insert the Art Iubenda module in the appropriate item and activate the banner by activating the Banner Cookie Law item (see step 8).
