A well-constructed product sheet ( as we have seen very important ) needs to be completed with related products and accessories, in part to offer the customer additional information that can push him to buy more products, in part because search engines like it. PrestaShop integrates the possibility of adding the products of the same category, the recently viewed products and the most purchased together (Cross selling) to the product the customer is viewing the card for. However, the modules already included are impractical and limited.
Let's see together the modules already present and some alternative solutions.
Products in the same category
A free module present in all PrestaShop installations , the module has always (already with the PrestaShop 1.6 version) suffered from problems related to the management of the Smarty cache. In the PrestaShop 1.7 version it is necessary to exclude the cache by editing the module itself, otherwise it will not display descriptions and prices . Unfortunately the module generates a degradation of the loading times . As valid as it may seem, it must be uninstalled.
It should be emphasized that displaying the products of the same category automatically is not a very useful thing, the product sheet must also be taken care of in the selection of related products.
Related Products / Accessories
Certainly the most useful native PrestaShop feature . We can add related products to the product manually - excellent for optimizing the product sheet - this function is used very often to indicate useful accessories to extend or complete the product.
Related Product Modules present on PrestaShop Addons
On PrestaShop Addons there are several modules for managing related products, we present in this short guide the ones that we believe are the most useful.
The first module we present is our Art Brand Module which allows, in addition to displaying the brand in the product sheet and the generation of a graphic and impactful brand page, to show the articles of the same manufacturer / brand in the product sheet.

By selecting the Product List / Slider Widget and inserting it (by dragging it into a SECTION) we will be able to insert a carousel of products, both as a manual selection and as category or best-selling products and new products.
